VMBO students and HCM invest together in the future

VMBO On Stage is an initiative to bring VMBO students into contact with different companies and professions, giving them a better idea of future career opportunities.

Do Day

On March 19, 2024, VMBO students from Yuverta vmbo Aalsmeer came to get acquainted with the Direct Mail and Fulfilment profession at Handling Company Mijdrecht during the VMBO On Stage Doe Day. Every year, HCM offers VMBO students the opportunity to experience for themselves how versatile the DM and FF activities are for HCM's (international) clients.

Gain hands-on experience

During the Doe Day, the students were welcomed by the HCM team. After that, the students were given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Guided by experienced employees, they were able to put together a personalised fulfilment package, print and personalise the packaging, take care of the order picking and choose the protective shipping packaging. To this end, they were allowed to coordinate the logistics process themselves and use the large-format printing machines, allowing the students to experience a complete production and fulfillment process.

Plenty of opportunities

Jurgen Blom, director of HCM: "Our Do Day shows VMBO students how varied and interesting our profession is. We hope that this experience motivates and inspires them to choose our profession and HCM. Due to the rapid development of internationalization and E-Commerce, there are plenty of opportunities for young people. It is an investment in the future for the participating students and for HCM'.
