The market situation

In the world of color, trends are constantly evolving. Research shows that color is one of the most important factors in paint purchasing decisions. Each year, PPG color experts identify new trendy hues for a wide range of products based on an intensive process that is part art, part science, and predict the Color of the Year.

The challenge

Introduce PPG's Color of the Year 'Limitless' to key influencers for the retail market. Present the Limitless color collection at interior designers, online and offline home improvement magazines and major DIY chains.

The solution

HCM developed custom packaging to deliver a can of Limitless paint, a paint roller and a matching paint tray with the documentation to influencers. We added an additional trigger to encourage unboxing of the packaging.

The results

Limitless received even more media coverage in mainstream magazines and social media than hoped for, thanks in part to the impactful mailing. The intake in the retail market exceeded all expectations.
